Don't want to jack the Onx app thread so decided another one since this one is specifically the home computer version.

I have been happy with the phone app and constantly use it. I was also happy with the desktop version until recently. I was so happy that I was about to get the chip for my Garmin GPS also. However the desktop version now requires me to buy additional layers that I was using before. For example, CA government lands and private parcels.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? Wondering if I need to renew my desktop subscription? As I remember I got the phone app and I used the log in for my home computer and all was well. I don't think I got another subscription for the computer.

$30 per year and it's good for phone plus computer.
The offline feature works much better now also (or I've finally figured out how to use it).

As said above your subscription will include online and the app. I would try logging out and logging back in on your computer.

Thanks for replies...Logged off, exited, opened new browser, logged in, all of my waypoints loaded. Still no layers. Checked my account and its good for 7/2018 and its premium. I think premium is good for one state which I am fine with. However for the layers to be active I need to get elite membership. That is $15/month or $99/year. Thats where I go, "WTF"?

Am I doing something wrong, missing something? I hope they are not these nickel and dime you kind of business.

$30/year is good but not $100

you've probably already done this but ,after they updated my pc maps also didn't show layers, had to click my layers on the left then turn on layers you want, if not call them

Guess next step is to call. When I click on "my Layers" it notifies me about "elite membership" and if I click on "buy CA Gov lands" it takes me to billing.

I sent an email to ONX support. They replied in a timely manner. They said its an update issue. I got instructions stating to sync my tracks and waypoints manually then update the app on my phone. I then logged in to the online version and......still the same issue.

I checked my phone software if that required updating and yes, it does. So I am now updating my phone, then check for app update, then try online again. I don't think it will work but I have my fingers crossed. If it doesn't work then I will email them again.

Good luck with yours Drew.

On a positive note...at least they didn't say "pay up".

theres also an update for your gps chip California
Have not purchased the GPS chip yet. Not sure if I want to now. I have been getting away with using my phone to figure out BLM land while in the car so the phone stays plugged in. The GPS is just a back up for getting back to truck in case I get disoriented. I also bring along a spare battery than can charge my phone and GPS.

I bought my chip for gps first, they didn't have the app yet. like you I use the gps for tracking backup batteries last longer, but the app is much easier with larger screen

Positive update- My ONX phone app this morning I realized is now a red X and when I opened it looked different. I had to log in. Once logged in its a whole new set up. My waypoints were there and tracks also. But my saved offline maps were gone.

To save a map now is much easier. No more picking tiles. You just pick low med high resolution and the high resolution is 5 miles wide. Med is 10mi wide, low is 150mi wide.

Desktop version, once I logged on, now has the layers. Everything is back to normal now....and better I think.

Before venturing out though-make sure your offline maps are loaded onto your phone.
