hit the pencil icon on the top, place your waypoint, then on the top you can manage waypoint and change the icon and name of waypoint to your liking

I had a similar problem, what happened they upgraded the app and made some changes I actually emailed onxmap and they responded with the fix, good luck Hunting one week to go!!

Thanks! Just getting my Dove map all ready to go from scouting and I rely on those pins to remind my old brain what I saw
