Went out on the 12th to calexico. Got 7 in the morning. 2 euros and 5 mournings. Came back in the afternoon set out the decoys and got limits of mournings and 4 more euros within an hour. Very fun. Only made it out twice this season. Both times got my limit. Cant wait to try and get some pheasant. Ive never been and would love some help.

Good for you, my buddy and I went today and only got 7 total for a morning hunt. Seems like most of the birds are gone or very skidish.

All the ones I got this year I walked up on... they just weren't flying the same pattern as last year...

Still got some birds though.

I noticed the birds in this spot dont really have a fly way. A certain flight path. Once I put some decoys out there was a steady batch or single that came in over the decoys every couple mins. It was fun. Got to use my Browning 2000 since I bought the 2 3/4 barrel. Good times. Wish I could have made it out more.

I agree...same with me, it was a jump shooting dove season so far...as well as some low fliers, which you don't want to shoot with other shooters around.

Nice job on the birds. As everyone is saying the hunting drys up during the first season for some reason. I have more luck with doves during the second season. I'll jump shoot ducks in morning and evening and shoot doves during the day if there isn't much duck action. I've had some great days doing that. If you want great dove hunting tho forget hunting mournings and white wing hunt euros when the regular dove season is closed and if your in the right spot you can kill a lot of birds and have no other hunters around. PS sorry for hijacking the thread
