Road closure map.

How accurate have you found this road closure list? https://www.fs.usda.gov/cleveland/

I've tried calling the Palomar ranger district but they do not pick up, say "its not available" and/or the voicemail is full.

Not sure what map you’re looking at. The fire area closure maps should be up to date. In the past I have always used this page: https://www.fs.usda.gov/detailfull/cleveland/alerts-notices/?cid=stelprdb5340229

The accuracy of this list varies. I have had some early mornings driving to scout only to find multiple roads gated. Pretty frustrating. Usually this is after a storm though. If there hasn’t been a big rain event or some other very recent event like a fire to change conditions it is usually an accurate list. Hope that helps.

It is very likely the roads would be opened for the opener...Imagine the traffic jam otherways?
They usually close the roads up there after heavy rain and such or for maintenance. But they expect a large attendance. I hunted a nearby zone and it was a zoo! never seen that many hunters....it kind of sucked.
