From SD GOA:
We just had a massive win in court against Attorney General Rob Bonta – and it’s a bright spot for our future in defense of the Second Amendment.
Recently, lawmakers in Sacramento conspired together to force anyone (like us) who sues the state to protect their civil rights to pay potentially MILLIONS to the government if they lose even just one claim in court.
But not just any civil right – just one: the Second Amendment.
This law would make it almost impossible to litigate a Second Amendment case in court – so, naturally, SDCGO, one of our members, and other allies went to court to block this law from taking effect in a lawsuit called Miller v. Bonta, or Miller II.
The great news: Judge Roger Benitez just halted implementation of this chilling law which was designed to silence us by preventing us being able to sue gun-grabbers to stop them from…well, gun-grabbing. Instead, they lost (for now) – and we can continue to hold the State of California accountable for their attacks on our rights!
The trouble: this fight is a massive win in a battle that has just begun – and the next hearings on this case begin in just a few days! If we don’t win this, it’s potentially O V E R for the Second Amendment in California.
This is one court case that hasn’t been getting the attention it deserves, because losing this case could mean the end of lawsuits that hold anti-gun politicians and bureaucrats accountable for destroying our freedoms.
