After being in Canada for 2 1/2 weeks, I needed to get in the woods........The Santa Ana conditions probably didn't help, but still some game......Still can't get over how dry the back country is......The trail cam pix are from the same area......Never saw a buck during the bow hunting portion of D-16.......At least now, it seems a few bucks are starting to move about......Coyotes & fox were in the pix most every night, but at least no big cats........

How about a spotted fawn and strutting turkey in October............. ;D

My daughter will be on this property.......Her 1st deer could be almost any of those.......The big fork would not get a pass. The small 3 would............Turkeys are way down..........Only about 8 "longs" for next year with about 20 hens......

Another property had a number of this years jakes......Actually a good sign.

Acorn production this year is way down......Lots of apple & pears trees, but most the fruit is gone......Grass is almost none existent in the meadows.........I think she also has a pair of fawns as well.

We need rain BADLY!

Yes we do. If we do not have a attests decent rainfall this wet season...... We are in trouble

Here's a pic of that same doe yesterday.......She seems to be in really bad shape.......Both eyes are practically closed (that can't be good with lions & packs of coyotes around)......She was actively feeding though and seemed to be a alert to her surroundings.
