The cali zone map is confusing!

Just moved here last week from the midwest. I see there are AO tags still available and I would like to hunt southern California but I can not for the life of me understand which units this applies to. Any help would be awesome thanks

the AO tag you can hunt all the zones with the exception of X zones
Read this front to back and it pretty much gives you the low down on what you can do.

The AO tag lets you hunt during the archery seasons set for the zone you are in or use archery gear during the rifle hunting season for that zone

about all you can hunt this year is D16 and D12 I think... you need to look up the rifle seasons all the zones to figure out what you can get out and do.

AO tag in the D16 zone will close on the 23rd of NOV its also a Buck only

Thanks guys, looks like scouting until next season for me. Habitat looks terrible in the desert unit out towards imperial valley do deer really exist out there lol?

Get a road atlas then read the written description. Take your pen and mark the area boundaries. Worked for me.
