Hey what's up guys? I'm going to be heading out with a friend and his family on a hunting trip next month, but I would like some tips on hunting in D13 it's my first time being in the woods if you would say. I'm more of a fishing type of guy. Haha! Thank you, anything helps.

A lot of road hunters, so if you like walking id just stick a few hundered yards off a main road. we usually hike a few places. This year making a 2-day trip with one of my buddies about a 7 mile hike in. Try and find the water source in your area it's usually pretty hot during the beginning of d-13 so the deer will be watering a lot. D-13 is the hardest zone out of 5 I have hunted. But it is where I killed my first buck.. My uncle used to take monster out of the zone.. But now a days your average buck is a 13-14" forky..

Nice thanks for the tips. I have to get hip to the hunting talk. haha! But road hunter is a "hunter that sticks Next to the road" right? also I just bought a gps so if they are road hunters I will try myself with my buddy, go big or go home right? But I'm always will to learn so if you want a hunting buddy I don't mind getting schooled?

Get off the beaten path and stay away from areas with easy access. Don't even bother going out opening day. So many people being foolish you will just go home frustrated. I won't give away my spots but using google earth to find areas with water is your best bet. If you're willing to put in the miles, you will be sucessful. I like to hold the high ground and bounce from ridge to ridge glassing the canyons, creeks, and areas with water and food. Most of the creeks won't have running water year round but have moisture and provide food and shade. Many will have well traveled game trails which will help you keep quiet as dry as it is right now. Supposed to have rain on Wednesday so fingers crossed.

Thanks lewdawg, I will keep your tips in mind. No matter what happens the day of the hunt I will post a report up. Thank you once again.
