Me and Jon the McBuckkiller made it out to the mountains east of Salem OR and are dialing in the upland game hunting. Totally different vibe than chasing valley quail and sniping rabbits in so cal. Damp forested mountains. Grouse, mountain quail, “brush rabbits”. Cool critters. The Mt quail are larger and more colorful than the California quail. The rabbits are a form of cottontail with shorter ears and they behave a lot differently.
