I usually go with 1 MH per day as well, for dinner, only because on longer hunts it uses up more water that I have to lug. Only a few more cups but hey, those add up lol. So I usually go with bars for breakfast/lunch.
I pre-stash 2 gallons of extra water out where I go, so I don't have to carry in so much when it's go-time. It's Glorious!!! to have that extra water. And I also usually don't trust that it will be there so carry in some more anyway just in case. So usually I'm doing great for water. I don't mind the weight going in. I always figured that you're going to need that exercise and warm-up anyway if you get lucky, right?
