When does the rut start in the D-16 zone?

I'm new to deer hunting and I'm sorry if this is a newby question, but do you guys think the rut will start up there in Palomar Mountain or D-16 zone before deer season is over? And how do I find out when it starts without living up there.
The only thing that I'm do now is going to this web sight http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/mesowest/gmap.php to keep track of the temperatures up there. I was told that if the temps gets down below 40 deg for a few days the rut will start.
I only have 3 days left of vacation time and I would like to use it when the rut starts.

At the lower elevations the rut was on about week and a half two weeks ago. They will usually rut at the higher elevations about 2weeks after that.

This past weekend the deer were in full rut at the lower elevation of Palomar. Bucks were out chasing does hard so Palomar deer should be in rut mode. There's another cold front coming in a few days so you should see more activity as the season comes to a end.

Hopefully this cold front that just passed, kicked the rest of the does into heat.
