Looking for some recommendations of places to buy good beef and pork fat to cut into my deer and elk ground for burger / sausage. Just bought my first grinder and filled my elk tag on Monday (I will eventually post my report) so I will be looking to grind about 50-75 lbs of meat.

I’m in Poway, looks like I can go to stater bro’s but want to know where you guys go.

I’ll probably head over there, I called specialty meats in Esco and they only have about 2 lb of fat left.

Asked the butcher at vons to save me some it took a few days. But turned out great!

Trim a beef brisket, that’s good for a few pounds of fat.

Mx markets good for beef or pork

Costco pork belly is great to use.......5-12% is my choice of mix

I ended up stopping by staters first and they had a giant meat bucket of suet so I bought 5 lbs and then hit up Costco for another 4 lbs of the pork belly. Now I need to finish butchering, only 1 rear quarter left. I will probably end up a lot closer to the 50 lbs of meat for grinding. I keep all meat that is heavy with tendons / sinew (shanks) in its own packaging for crockpot recipes. Made a stew with about 3 lbs of deer shank today that turned out excellent.
