I am from Michigan, but wouldn't move back there.
I went to school in NC, near Raliegh, and I really liked it
My buddy moved from San Diego to Tennessee, and he loves it! he gets 2-3 deer a year, and goes bass fishing all the time.
jobs are good, and housing is good.
 
Wackum, my family and I are planning a move to either Indiana or Tennessee in the next 2 years(fingers crossed). Both offer good hunting, and are MUCH more gun and hunting friendly than California.
