Lucked out on an elk tag this year and getting my pack-out setup dialed in. Looking for two things and used is great, blood stains only mean they work!:
1) A meat-hauler frame. A bare freighter frame (ALPS Commander or similar) is the target, but I'd also consider a frame + load-shelf pack (KUIU, Kifaru, Stone Glacier, Exo) if the price is right.
2) A ~30L day pack with a removable hip belt, so I can lash it onto the frame but also run it on its own.
My budget's around $350 for the pair, flexible for the right gear. I'm in North San Diego County and happy to grab anything local. Shoot me a PM with photos and your price. Thanks!
