Also been listinening to the Jay Scott pod cast (Kellen turned me on to this last year when I was prepping for my AZ OTC archery deer hunt), he has a half dozen or so episodes devoted to turkey hunting.

Good article....Of all the kills I was on this year, only two were with a decoys....Open country where a sight visual may have been needed from afar.

Steve, the closer encounter I had this year was without a decoy.
Not knowing the spot well cost me to miss the opportunity.
Still, it was a breathtaking experience.

Decoys can make up for mistakes....Box call, visual on decoys, and wait them out....Over calling is one of the biggest mistakes guys make....Lots of different scenarios with or without decoys....Experience grass hoppa….
