Got up bright and early...And was at my best spot at daybreak...Only problem was after a few laps around the area, I never saw a rabbit...Hmmm...So it was off to MCC property...Just like yesterday looking for squirrels, the mustard plant is very high and thick...Zero 'tails again...Moved to another area that has produced before and I spot one in an open area at about 90 yds...The Ruger American .17 HMR didn't disappoint...#1 in the bag...Within minutes, another hops out of the mustard...Kapow!...And #2 is flipped...Cruised around some more and drove up on one near an old dairy...Beeman .22 did the job at about 30 yds on #3...Never saw another in this area...So, went to a totally new spot on the club...Hadn't driven far and spotted one under a bush...Bingo...#4 is in the books...Did some more driving and saw a big jack...Been wanting to try the back strap on one of these big dogs...So, he met Mr. Beeman as well...Finally, I was driving out and see a bunny hopping on a little hill...40 yd'r, and it was a gut shot...After a short chase, I wrestled him to the ground...lol

ps...Happy to see 3 bunches of hens with poults.

Nice Steve cool that you took a bunch out with the Beeman.
What’s the story with the bucks?

Drew,

I don't know....Was just looking for buns and saw the post with the heads wired on it....I do believe the one buck is the one I saw on this property a year ago...

Jackstraps are great, with a dash of Garlicsalt.

Looks like a fun day, Enjoy the vittles.

Whats the point of leaving the heads and racks behind? I wish I have gotten my deer last season to have the head displayed on my fireplace...

Some people do that for a “natural” euro job. Since it’s chained up that’d be my guess. But you can’t leave the skin on. If you take the skin off the bugs will strip the meat but if you don’t it’ll have hide and hair on it nearly forever.

Nice day there Steve. Congrats on the 60th season.. most of us can only hope to log that many. Awesome to see the hens with poults.. I saw a big ol' hen with 3 big poults yesterday in east Boulevard of all places.

60 years hunting is certainly reason to celebrate..!! Good on ya...

Thank you...
I learn something every day.
