Harold and Kumar go to San J

Boy that looks WAY overbuilt for the task at hand. But I'm sure you guys use it for other tasks as well, right?
I like the idea of the concrete mixing wheelbarrow bed to act like a pullable sled on the water, that's cool!

My honest opinion of calling down at wister is it really doesn’t help but it is something to do. A jerk rig would be more affective than a call. Those ducks get called to and shot at at least 3 days a week.

I am going to use a jerk rig or two but trying to deceide what I am going to anchor with, like 2lbs will hold or a stake. Kinda like a puppeteer behind the blind, lol.

If you have a stick welder I bet you could Fab one up real quick out of like maybe 1/4" square-tubing. Not like it'd have to carry a lot of weight actually. Maybe use Sterilite Containers that drop into placeholders on the cart?

Come to think of it, Heck you could make that out of wood. And that would probably be better. I've got a buncha left-over plastic wheels from when we did the PushCart Derby during Cub Scouts. Ya wouldn't want to use something too nice for that build cause it'd no doubt eventually get muddy and all oxidized before long.

Hrmm, I guess it depends on how quite ya want to be walking in there in the AM. Come to think of it, some pneumatic rubber tires would be better noise-wise.

No welder, I need something that folds up and and beyond my fabrication pay grade. I have a crescent wrench and a flathead screwdriver. The decoys are not very quiet either, Open shoot time will have every bird in with area in the air. I think that helped us last time since we didnt shoot at opening the birds kinda settled in our area until feeding time then flew out again. i could not identify the shadows in the air yet either for a good shot. Kinda different from predator hunting where you have to sneak in, the birds we will be shooting at wont really be near while setting up.

Hey guys if ya'll come down the 25th, I believe there is a end of year kinda party going down somewhere in that area. Some of my northend buddies host it and from what he says it's pretty cool event. cook out and beverages. I think i'll check it out this year and meet some of the duckers out that way.

I will be out there just not sure yet when I am going to make the jump from San Jacinto to Wister. By the time I check out of San Jacinto Saturday I can either make it home for some sleep and leave at midnight to Wister or head over from San J and spend the night out there.

Trap less is sometimes more when it comes to decoys. I've been using a half dozen teal decs only been shooting limits

Yep Skeet...I'm down to about a dozen coots, 6 GW's, 3 spoons, (3 cans sometimes)...Tons of movement though... ;)

NBK, I think you may have a photo of Milt's self invented cart's that he gave us, Put all these guy's to shame when they see how old school this old man is and still practicing the old way would that put us all to shame today. P.S. He's still hunting and pulling carts (close to ninety now)

It probably has better traction control than my mustang, lol. I have heard of people putting rags out, that actually worked? I could see how it would grab their attention from way high up but seems like they would notice once they got to lower elevation.

Do you guys that shoot Benelli know what the inside barrel thread size is? I have a citadel shotgun, made in Turkey, and wanting to get a Improved Modified choke for it and I thought I saw it may be the same as the beretta/benelli barrels. It has a skeet 1 choke in it now. I tried to find the post again but no luck. If so I wonder if stocks are compatible also.

Tell me it's not this Citadel...lol

Thats the coot slayer version, I just got the basic 12 ga pump. Same company though.

Could be Benelli/Beretta tubes...Are the threads on top?...Plain old modified is good for most hunting species, especially since steel is required for everything.
