Inyo County requests trout season to open

I will be up in Mono County around mcGee Creek fishing July 9-12. Seems like DFG has been getting cheap the last few years stocking Trout from what I have noticed.

That's one thing I was wondering. Is the department still going to do stocking with us not being able to fish. Can you imagine some of the smaller Lakes in Mammoth getting stalked every two weeks?

With all the "Budget cuts", we'll be lucky to get any plants at all...I can remember (& not all that long ago) when just about every stream and lake in San Diego Co. got trout plants.

DFW and libs of Commiefornia have cooked the golden goose...The American Sportsman.

Ya I would not be surprised they give the money for anti hunting organizations

The money now goes into the general fund...This was brought about by Governor Pat Brown...Before that time, I was told DFG always ran in the black...That is no longer the case.

Lee,

I can remember fishing Santa Ysabel Creek and San Luis Rey River...SLR was as recent as the late 90's, maybe even the 2000's.

ps...Having a hard time finding these pix....lol

Plus the lakes, used to look forward to fishing the creeks all around the county, your showing your age talking about the past, but it was great, plus the few places that had native trout. I think some of the places might still have a few hold outs, but might be wrong

I am hearing that creeks won't be stocked and that only Lakes Crowley and Convict will get stocked. Supposedly this is due to black snails having been found at the hatchery and now they are bringing in trout fry from Oregon. I will be up there July 9-12 and will confirm if true.
