Long range muzzleloaders

Not yet but it is on my radar. I want to do the late season muzzle loader hunt down here at some point, plus muzzle loader season's in other states.

Have you seen gunwerks new peep site???

Looking @ 40 & 45 caliber. Off the shelf doesn't look like an option to get longer range centerfire accuracy.

Let me know if this isnt the case.

This thread is the reason why I like John so much. Hasn’t drawn the tag and already has the parts in his cart for the coolest ML ever built.

We have some serious issues.

The PCC shoot is going to be good this year we might need to make some actual rules this time. We are starting to get some serious shooters on here.

Dude how far do you need to shoot? It’s a ML tag close the distance. The paramount pro is marketed as a 400 yard gun out of the box and guys are shooting sub MOA at twice that distance. 400 yards is nearly a 1/4 mile.

It is not a .40 Cal. But this could be a great donor rifle for a switch-barrel build. 400 yards won't work. @Chris240 has my head spinning!

Thanks for the post @Truduct.

Definitely watching. I was trying to get a muzzle loader hunt setup this year cause my buddy didn't want to buy a bow. It would be something good to have in the ol bag of tricks

Go big or go home!

Please understand that I really want you to build a custom long range muzzle loader. But I will fully expect to see some 800yard shots on my deer targets at the PCC.

I have the CVA Paramount. It’s very accurate, I have only shot it to 450 yards though. I killed a buck last year at 168 yards, so I didn’t get to see how the bullet performance was at long distance. But, at that distance the damage was pretty awesome. I have a limited entry elk tag this year, I will update the performance once the hunt is over.

Hello fellas, i would encourage anyone interested to look at either Pittman, Parker, or Fury custom bullets. They have some extremely high BC’s. I even know of a fellas that built an F class style build with a .375. There are some 1000 yard competitions for smoke poles where guys have shot 5” groups. Pretty crazy stuff out there. I currently and putting 2 together and we will just see how they turn out... who knows

What about the powder burn over the hood ....something to consider...

CVA paramount is where it’s at. If you are going deer only, get a 45 cal for the high BC bullets. Some states require 50cal for elk.

A friend of myn has several CVA paramounts for his outfitter service in NM, he swears by them
