You can check this out for yourselves if you think I'm blowing smoke up your collective arses. When I lived on the Big Island [miss it now, looking at all these posts on efforts to take our guns and give us golf clubs and bowling balls and ballet slippers in exchange], a state representative named Josh Green [an emergency room physician] proposed a new reg for gunowners. I personally knew Dr. Green and he was a cool dude in almost every respect. But he saw dozens of gunshot victims and it got to him. He is now the Lt. Gov of Hawaii and will probably become the Gov soon. He proposed that all gun owners need to go thru a psychiatric evaluation every couple of years, the shrinks chosen by the state. If the shrink detected some sociopathic abnormalities, then the gunowner must surrender all firearms immediately. Can you imagine the interview?
"So, tell me, Mr. Gunowner, do you like to hunt?"
"Yes."
"So, you like to kill animals?"
"Well, it's more than that."
"You like to watch animals die, do you?"
"No, let me explain..."
"You're nuts!! Surrender your guns now!!"
There was no appeal, nada. The shrink determines that you are sick and that's the end of the story. Think it won't happen here? Can't make this crap up.
