    California Draw Results are up!

A22 here and I purchased an AO tag last night. Now I don't have to worry about tracking down practice 30-06 ammo for the season.

French Valley wildlife. Can you hunt coyote there?

I would think you could hunt coyote there as long as you are using the appropriate method of take (shotgun). Since coyote are considered non-game (no regulated season, possession limit, etc...). On a side note, does anyone know if this spot is worth the trip for quail?

    First solo hunting trip D15

I'm in a similar situation as you beginning my hunting journey solo. I was also in D15 and I saw similar sign. I actually got onto a "forky," but he took off into some pretty thick brush and I couldn't get a shot on him (my inexperience). I hunted D19 and saw lots of sign and ideal habitat, but...

    San Felipe Wildlife area?

Thank you for all of the information on this area. Essentially, if you wanted to use a general D16 tag you have a very small portion north/east of S2 that is accessible/legal?

    New Hunting Rig GX470

Wasn't the Cherokee RWD/4WD and body on frame until the newest version came out? I believe Fiat then switched them to unibody FWD/AWD. I see a lot of the older ones with the 4.0L V6 that seem to be popular with the off road enthusiasts. I think the same thing was also done to the Grand...

    Ozark Trail Rotomold Coolers

Hey Guys, I went to Walmart today and inspected some of the Ozark Trail rotomolded coolers that they offer. There are currently three in the product lineup (26 qt., 52 qt. and 73 qt.). I was most interested in the 26 qt., as I believe it would be the right size if I'm fortunate enough to fill...

    New Hunting Rig GX470

Nice setups guys. I like seeing people using proper body on frame SUV's for hunting. I hope to purchase a 4runner in the near future that will dual as a family vehicle for my wife and kids and give me truck like options when I need them (hunting, off roading, shooting, Home Depot runs). It...

    6/13/18 leftover tags

Since I didn't receive my first choice of G13, I was able to get a D16 tag as a first choice option without having to pay any additional fees, and I still have the option of purchasing a second deer tag. I may also purchase a D15 tag in the near future so I will have the ability to hunt from...

    Draw results up

I also selected G13 as my first choice. I didn't select a second choice because I will purchase a D15 tag if I don't get selected for G13. I also purchased a futile elk preference point.

    2018 California Big Game Regulations

This will be my first season participating. I'm going to purchase an unrestricted D-Zone tag and apply for G-13. I've been contemplating starting to purchase points and building up for a antlerless Grizzly Island elk tag. Is this even worth it? Or am I better off going out of state for OTC...

    D15 Rifle and Caliber

Hello All, I haven't been able to post here as much as I would have liked when I joined up due to family and work obligations, but I have a question for those familiar with the D15 rifle season. I have a mid 20th Century Winchester M94 in 30-30 Win. that I would like to try out this coming...

    Another Newbie

I have both a Mosin and a Vepr. I would like to make the Vepr my medium/big game rifle for the future, but I haven't had much luck finding lead free ammo for it. I will most likely start using the 22 LR, 223 Rem, and 7.62x39 for now.

    Another Newbie

Hi All, I'm brand new to the site and live in the Temecula/Murrieta area. I'm looking to take the hunter safety course soon so I can get my hunting license. I would like to start my hunting experience with varmint/predator hunting in the Riverside, San Diego, and San Bernardino areas and work...
