    Motion Ducks

I too did this several years ago. Im big on making setup/pickup easier. I did away with the jerk rig setup and bought pulsators, winderducks, everything….. what I ended up doing is making a lot more work in the long run. If I had to do it again, I would keep the jerk rig. Electronic decoys...

    Wister days numbered…?

Per their website, they said this would provide “X” amount of jobs in a highly low income area. They said it will also aid in the toxic dust concerns in the valley. The geothermal plant is also for the production of lithium to make our planet more “green” by providing batteries for electric...

    Wister days numbered…?

Welp, I’ve seen this topic come up before but haven’t seen it discussed in its entirety. I’m sure anyone here that hunts wister has seen the geothermal stack located on Davis road off of Alcott the last season or two? Well, they’ve been busy…. I know last year they drained all the water west...

    Wister Dirt Work

You’re absolutely right. Birds key in on blinds and islands very quickly. Having the option to move north/south or into the water, even by 30yds, can have a huge benefits. If you make every blind an island, you’re limiting our options as hunters. That being said, do I like hunting from...

    Wister Dirt Work

Tules and salt cedar are inevitable down there. It’s a waste of time and effort to clear the entire pond only to have it grow right back to what is was. To me, it makes more sense to leave all the brush, salt cedar and tules in the cells ALONE. Clear it 100 yards in all directions from the...

    Wister Dirt Work

That’s unfortunate. This had potential but now we’re looking at a repeat of the Ys. I’m guessing these blinds will get left unhunted just like the Ys did last year on the opener.

    Ducking Delima

It’s San jac… I’d rather be in the top half of the sweat at the wiz. And no. I don’t have a high ressie that day and trying to get one more spot ahead! Lol. Go duck hunt for the first few hours. Then work at home on your project with your wife

Where do you get your arrow weed for blind material?

Any of the roads that parallel canals/ditches. Drive up and down all the roads south of Wister. You’ll find it within a few minutes

    Water situation

With the current water situation in California, is Wister planning on receiving all of its water this season, on time? I know in years past when the national wildlife refuges up north we’re suffering, Wister wasn’t affected since it is state ran. This year, water seems to be playing a bigger...

    Licenses

I always get everything on my license so I don’t need to worry about it, but my buddy is getting a license just to go out for turkey. He got the license and upland game...does he need anything else? I looked on the regs and didn’t see anything else that he needs...

Bow and shotgun in the blind?

I’ll be hunting private property this weekend with a good population of turkey and can’t find any info on the legality of having both my shotgun and my bow in the blind with me. Is this legal or is it one or the other? Thanks
