Thinking about doing a solo trip down south to get a Gobbler in the next few weeks. any tips or tricks to locate. any areas to start with? Only ever taken one and that was up north long ago. any help would be appreciated.

There is good water all over.
you could solo most of the area.
Dont get stuck in the mud. few of the blinds have hell mud. been there done that.
Last pull my buddy got shooting 15 min before the tooba goes off. Got one hen mallard right at the horn. Then artillery fire all day. Nada after that....

What's the consensus on hunting with Heavy barreled LRC chassis rifles? I know the weight makes a big difference packing in and out. Im pushing 15lbs on mine now. Misery will ensue on a big hike. I get it.
I have heard from some of the "old timers" You don't need all that...
New to SCH. Frequent BD. Live in So cal. South los angeles area. Norwalk to be exact.
