    Ground Squirrels

It is that fun time of the year again. Time to go get my 17HMR CZ out of the safe and go lay waste to them. If there is anyone in the greater San Diego region with some private land in need of vermin control, my rates are very resonable and I police all my brass. 8)

CA AB 1213-Ban on Bobcat Hunting

I haven't seen this posed here yet. This bill was just introduced(2/22/13) and is currently in committee. Here is a link to see it's progress though the legislative process. http://legiscan.com/CA/bill/AB1213/2013 Here's the Cliff Notes version: -Adds bobcat to the DFW list of protected...

Fine firearms completes my 6 woa build

Nice looking setup. A friend of mine had a similar experiece with Vortex customer service. Nice to see a company that truly does stand behind their product. At 24x you could do a number on a prarie dog town with that 6 WOA!

    Vortex Razor HD

While I don't have any experience with the Razor line, I do have a Viper PST sitting on my Ruger M77 Target. Overall, it's very nice glass for the money. It's clear, the adjustments are solid and repeatable, and the focus is sharp. I'd have no hesitation buying one again.

    Hunting Binoculars

+1 for spending a little more on glass. I've got a cheap-er pair of Nitrex(Weaver) binos that I got for about $150 on closeout. At the time, they were better then the $50 POS Barksa's that a friend had loaned me. The Weaver's are ok, but if you glass for more then a short time you get eye strain...

    Looking for an AR

Give a call or shoot an email down to the guys at Fine Firearms. If you've got a specific model in mind, they can usually find it.

    1st Archery Deer

Great looking deer! Congratulations! Those guys at Anza build some nice knives, don't they? A friend of mine has one of their medium sized knives and I've got serious knife envy.

    Doves near Barstow

Stop looking at the darn shotgun bead and look at the bird. Also, stop following the bird with my head and follow it with my upper body(and shotgun).

Good deal on Russell APXg2 Jacket/Pants

Figured I should give a heads up on a gear deal. Midway just put some Russell APX G2 gear on sale, specifically the L4 Gale pants and jackets. While I can't comment personally on the quality of the gear, it appears to be designed along the lines of Sitka. The L4 looks to be similar to Sitka's...

    Doves down in Yuma

Had a good opener. Hunted the AZ side, mostly north/east of town. Got skunked opening morning, nothing flying at our usual spot. Got into some better birds in the afternoon and the morning of the second day. Came home with 18 birds and a big smile!

Best auto loader shotgun, skeet, small foul hunting around $700.00?

+1 for the Beretta 3901. In that price range, you're looking at Remington 11-87's and Mossberg 930's. The Beretta is a lighter and more balanced gun.
