It's a gun brand really into short barrel high twist heavy bullets. Like 1:3 twist barrels it's wild. Take a look at them. Monolithic's are perfect for them because the rpm can tear traditional bullets apart.

Barnes biggest struggle is they don't make their own brass/cases. Hopefully that changes in the future. But federal is loading LRX in their 7mm BC and in the 6.5 + peak that comes out this fall. That plus peak gives you better velocity than a prc in a CM case I can say the stuff they are doing...

In a high pressure case the 30-06 will have the same velocities as a 300wm or likely 300prc. It's a cool time to be a shooter this is the next frontier.

I leave for a 10 day backpack elk hunt next Tuesday. Which gun are you bringing? All in XLR chassis right to left 16" 22CM shooting 80g ELDX, 20" 300PRC shooting 212g ELDX, 16" 7mm Backcountry shooting 170G Terminal Ascent. Big country I might only see one bull which gun is going on your pack.

is it your 6.5CM? If so dont use the same lube you normally do...... I rarely clean my barrels, but when I do like after bad weather in AK I make sure to put at least 10 rounds down the pipe to get it shoting proper again before the next hunt. Never trust a clean barel to shoot like it was...
