Remington 270 bolt action

The Rem 700 is an outstanding action. The .270 is a great round but definitely not the perfect elk caliber.

I currently own a remington 700 in .308. Shoots just fine. I'm not the most experienced guy to respond to this but from what i've been told you may want a larger caliber. FYI I bought mine from a friend for $600 with a vortex diamondback on it. I took the scope off and replaced it with a viper pst.

I too, own a Remington 700...243 BDL...I got it when my old friend Cal passed...It was one of the 700's that would go off when you closed the bolt (trigger mechanism)...Remington fixed it and I've never had a problem.
