Hi fellas,

The next NWTF meeting will be Monday, January 19th at Hamburger Henry's...Start time is 6:30 pm...Many of us get there early for dinner and just shoot the breeze..........

Turkey season will be here before we know (March 28th) and the boys are already starting to fire up the morning gobbles...Never to early to start scouting...............;)

ps...It appears to be another good recruitment year too...So, with the great carry over, it should be a banner season..............

I always wanted to shoot a turkey with a slingshot. Ya could prolly get one those throwing a rock at it. Hell I could prolly rope one with my practice rope. Lol

Yea it's a bucket list bird.
I went turkey hunting 1 time up in running springs by lake arrowhead and got tracked by a mountain lion.
Haven't tried since.
I have killed cottontails with my wrist rocket with a 45 caliber lead ball. Headshot'em too. Lol

Mac,

There's one other thing........"Slingshots may only be used to take nongame birds and mammals (such as coyotes, opossums, and ground squirrels), but this does not apply to wild turkeys. Furthermore, carrying or attempting to use a "slungshot" (a different but similarly named weapon) is a felony in California".

It is illegal to kill a wild turkey with a sling or slingshot in California. Wild turkeys are classified as game birds, and the legal methods for taking them are strictly defined by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW).

But you can fling a arrow at them. I don't get it.
Method of take that figures. (But I knew that)No freedoms. Anything with meth in it has to be illegal. Lol
That just seems silly. As a kid I bb gunned and sling shoted everything on the ranch. But that was protecting livestock. From snakes squirrels n stuff that kill or eat our show birds.

I'ma have to pursue this bucket bird. Ima try to make the meeting.
Seeing u guys having a lot of fun with turkeys, makes me wanna see what I'm missing.
