Nothing in my portal has been updated yet which Im assuming is a bad sign for me lol. I also put in for that new Whitney tag, cool that you were drawn alternate.

Fingers are crossed you get called up!

Click on deer or elk in your portal and it will show a zone at the bottom for what you drew

Its a little known glitch that allows people to know what happened before the results are released.... If he had been successful there would be "hunt zone info" download button instead of "alternate draw letter"... For example I drew a22 as second choice and download button shows " hunts in d16 zone"
 
Nothing. Thought I was going to be hunting one of those new sheep units this year

Ah I see, I was looking on my desktop but when I swapped to the app I saw what you both are talking about.

This is interesting! Nothing special for me this year. Will have a D14 / D16 tags local with a couple out of state deer tags. Hopefully a WY pronghorn as well.

Im with you stevo...I've got a couple of Walmart /Big 5 specials that have lasted since the dawn of man....And nice going on the girl wapiti charlie !!...pay attention to the warden/biologist on your mandatory elk orientation...they will point you in the right direction ..I've Sherpa,d a few on the base in the past when I lived in state ...the biggest thing is to wait for one to clear from the herd...every year someone flock shoots and ends up with a spare or 2. Good luck and post her when you drop her!!

Congrats!

You can barrow my eberlestock f1 main frame and the pack that goes with it. The F1 main frame is a meat hauler with a shelf and the bag is the transformer I believe. I has been around and used for years between my self and helping my buddy’s pack em out.

I live in Temecula but pass through Escondido everyday.

Haven't been to FHL before, going to try and get an earlier quail or fishing trip in to learn the area. Anyone hunt there before?

I've been on a couple elk hunts and deer hunts there. You'll be fine bring a pack but you'll most likely need a couple buddies to help lift a whole elk in into the back of your truck. There's lots of roads and lots of girls. Every mans dream. I would learn the website and watch the open and closed units like a hawk. They can change fast.

@ilovesprig Thank you for the offer! Half of my kit is still from your generosity I have some time until the hunt so I can wait a bit for the right pack

@Stikbrandon that is incredibly generous! If we get closer to the date I will be sure to reach out. I'm in Vista, so Escondido is no problem for me.
