    If you’re a 1 gun guy. There isn’t a better round than the 7 Rem mag. 140’s for deer, 160’s for elk. Easy to find ammo for. The 7PRC is interesting, but is designed for the heavy 160-195 grain bullets.

    30 Nosler with a 168 gr McGuire Copper Rose at about 3220. 100 yards shot, dead broad side. Went through both shoulders. Made a mess of the heart and ruined about 4” of lung. It ran about 80 or so yards. No blood trail. Tough to put down. Guide says they nearly always run.

    There were 6 other hunters on this hunt we filled 5 tags first night plus 1 guy wounded one. Next morning the last tag was filled. After that everyone went out looking for the one that got away with no luck.

    Took the shot. He stood up on his hind legs. When he got on all four, he ran. I thought damn, suckers tough.He was busting off 4”diameter trees. But no blood, not a drop. After a 50-60 yard hike, things started looking a little better.
