There's a kiosk with field conditions next to the checkstation. Not sure if/when it gets updated but if it says green feed (most likely rye grass), then it's a goose field.
S20 & S22 are the only areas with island blinds so the kids without waders is good on most of the refuge.

If I had a #1 or #2, the blind I'd choose is the one where the birds are at. I certainly wouldn't trust suggestions from the internet. You don't get draws like that very often. Take a vacation day from work & go scout it. If not, you're going in blind regardless & what may have been good last...
Trapline, there's give & take in everything. You will give up cover & not being seen if you feel the need to see everything around you. If you can see them they can probably see you. You don't have eyes in the back of your head so your not going to see everything all the time anyways. I'd rather...

If this is Z drain, there's no reason to close Davis at Beach or the 111. Close it at the point of failure & we'll find another route like we've had to do with all the other closures until the County actually gets around to fixing them.
Ultimately they will dump a bunch of road base or recycled asphalt down like they did on McDonald when that geothermal plant was built. If muddy roads or sink holes get in the way of geothermal progress, they'll do something about. Until then, we'll be the ones having to take detours.
