Yep. I've gone up there many times and not heard a single bird, but 2 get them sounding off in both sits was pretty cool, even if we never saw them.

Was in Maui last week, and on the road to Hana, drove by one local's shed that had a bunch of what looked like Axis deer antlers on it. Wasn't sure if he got them on that island or another though......

Man, seeing some really nice bucks in velvet out there lately. Cooler weather has them moving around, even mid-day. They'll all disappear the week before the season though, but that's something my son will have to learn in his first year hunting CA big game...... LOL

Disregard, I hit post thread before finishing reading. Looking at last year's results, all the J hunts were 50/50 draws.

So, out of curiosity, the J hunts are all considered premium tags. If you look at the regulations, it states that: Premium tags: -90% to preference points -10% random drawing Apprentice tags: -50% Preference points -50% random drawing So which is it? Does it fall under the Apprentice...

I'm in the same boat this year Double, trying to figure out how to do it for my kiddo. I want to do an unrealistic one just to get a point, but just my luck he'd draw it first try........

I did yell at them, twice, letting them know there was a kid over here, and they were a tad bit early. No reply of course..... And no way to get a license plate or even kind of vehicle, it was far enough away and also still quite dark.

I can only hope to beat his turkey by an ounce, since his was 21 pounds, which would make mine a nice one...... ;)
