Very true. There are times that going to take care of the animals 20 yards from my door is a serious physically draining experience.

5th wheel "hunt lodge" for sale

Wait... you are going "full time" in that thing? Meaning you will live on the road? Does that thing have a small car behind the cab? I think you need to start a thread just about this.

Awesome. Great to hear that your wife's perception may be changing. I have made the determination that the butcher makes the most sense for us at this time. When the kids are older and can help process meat we will take it in house. My wife hasn't hunted since we moved to Colorado 4 years...

    Turkey blinds????

For deer, yes. Turkeys, hell no. Put the blind out the evening before or early that morning. Amazon is covered with blinds at great prices with great reviews. I have this one. I bought it specifically to throw a wiggly 3 year old in it. Put it out in the evening, shot a tom the next morning.

    A22 Buck Down !

I do not, and definitely not in my front yard. We have other livestock and lots of ranching out here. We do have sightings of cats around, but they don't last long. We can shoot them here in CO and CPW does a good job of thinning them out here if needed.

    A22 Buck Down !

I know exactly what you mean. We have a doe that chooses our neighbors property to fawn every year. The fawns are behind the fence until they are old enough to jump out or mom feels comfortable enough for them to leave. Our boys get their binos out and are constantly glassing for them in the...

    SD RUT IS ON!

We see the same thing here in Colorado. First rut starts early November and sometimes late October. We see peaks and valleys in regards to how much rutting activity there is, but they can rut into late January. Those babies born this year can go into estrus and they tend to do so late. I did...

12/22 Wister - is this how it works?

Awesome. Good job, dad. I am down for the 2 pieces of bacon sitting on his plate.

Wister 12/7 - just how bad will it be?

Just too slippery? It doesnt look like too much snow.

    Was that it?

Yup. I agree. Shoot, the teal might start heading north. That banding sounds about right. I believe the Wister birds are thought to migrate through the great basin.

    Was that it?

I doubt those birds from Mendota actually "migrate" to Wister. Rain wont push them. The birds in the central valley get there and stay. The birds that go to Sac area probably go every year, same with Mendota, Kern, SJ, Mexico, etc. Birds migrate due to moon phases, days getting shorter, and...
