Probably an easy couple hundred miles of burned boot leather between the scouting and hunting. Did several weeks in the backcountry this year. Both were harvested from over 10 miles in. First one was a solo high country wilderness hunt. Second was a mid country (between sea level and alpine?)...

Get an OTC either sex tag if you want a lot of opportunities to work your stalks. Draw tags are nice, but time in the field is better than building points. Can't get better if you aren't working deer.

It's not much to tell. Was archery hunting D15, had been in there all over the san mateo wilderness all summer. Scouted up some resident does in bluewater, and had my eye on a spot deep. Said spot was right out of a subdivision, but the road to that subdivision was a gated "smarmy bastard only"...
