Thought you were talking about the Wister area for the snow, the regs are confusing.
I got one on the 5th, adult snow came out of no where and into the decoys, didn't make a sound.
That's a Juvenile snow goose, see the gray, and white goose season didn't open until Oct 5th in the Imperial Valley....doh!
So just say you shot it on Saturday the 5th...LOL!

The mud can be real bad in spots, I use hip waders with a push pole in the boat I have now.

exactly like the pictures above but steaming all the time, when the wind blows in your direction smells like sulfur.
One of the biggest mud/steam pots in the area is out by Mullet Island. It's a huge bubbling mud area, steam coming off is usually a purple color. Be super careful in the area...
