Figured a club or at least get in some of the public lakes in a blind. This was fun but a lot of driving. I’d like to see what all this decoy and calling stuff is about. Plus my dog loves retrieving and I’d like to get her dialed in with a more controlled environment.

Got invited to hunt near south east of Salton tomorrow morning on a private club. Anyone been in that area lately? How was it? I’ve never been out there before and this will be my first hunt in a duck blind.

First two legit trips out were successful. I’ve always seen ducks in creeks and ponds while deer or turkey hunting. Never thought twice about it. Now I want to join a club and buy a new gun Public land, jumping ponds and creeks in D16!

Rifle should be here in the coming week or so. Just curious what the field thinks. If it’s terrible I’ll go thread protector or a different brake.

If it’s real bad I was thinking of just going thread protector. It’s 6.5 so the recoil isn’t much of a consideration anyway.

I know this general area is popular. For good reason. The same reasons I hunt it. But it’s big enough for people to get their own little area and spread out. You can walk for miles in Laguna and find a stand or camera every 100 yards. No sense in making it any tighter than it already is.
