    GPS

How old is your son? I love onX for private property and boundaries, and any of the GPS systems for when you have no service. But when I'm in the wilderness I still always carry a compass and old-fashioned USGS topo maps for the relevant quadrangles. There is nothing as light and worry-free as...

    Season opener dove poppers

i was away Friday to Sunday, but managed to squeeze in some time Monday with a buddy up on MCC. It was quiet for the first couple of hours, but we managed to locate some and push them around enough to make a meal of it. ;p They are on the grill now.

    IV report and....Tuleremia??

You do not have to eat the rabbits to get tularemia from them; just handling the raw meat with bare hands is enough to pick it up. You should always cook rabbit well, and that will prevent you from getting Tularemia from ingestion, but you could still get it if you didn't wear gloves while...

    Garmin Inreach Explorer+

Thanks Drew for the post. I have the Garmin Rino 650t as backup for my OnX. It's nice to have both when you're in NM, WY or somewhere with no service over a very large area. Plus the Rino has a radio and can track your hunting partners who also have a Garmin with similar features. The new...

    .177 Rifle

I agree on the inaccuracy of cheaper models. I have a Benjamin Regal break-Barrel, which I bought at Big 5 to take out rats in my garden. I needed a very quiet airgun. It's quiet alright, but not accurate enough to hit a rat much beyond 25 yards. I've tried different pellets, wearing in the...
