I agree Mike, it all comes down to meat in the freezer and I will use my rifle, bow, hands or what ever else is needed to fill the freezer. The thrill of archery is awesome and hard to match else where. I am sure we will take many animals in the future with our bows and rifles.

I have been hunting big game for the last 15 years and have chosen to put down my rifle for my bow. I get a lot more satisfaction harvesting an animal with my bow. Does anyone else think as I do? Let me know? Thanks, Larry Cochran

Great feed back all, I also have used different broadheads from Crimson Talon, Rage, Tekan and Montec. Having the expandable broadhead enter a deers body and cause that much damage is ideal for taking the deer ethically. I do not want the deer to suffer and I am sure all archery hunters want the...

Jeff, don't discount the 270 short mag, I know a group of guys who hunt the white mountains in AZ for elk and they are shooting and killing them at over 700 yards. Something to think about. Good luck with the search, like BuckHunter was saying the 30/06 is a great choice as well.
