Look at this video I did for our varmint club. It will give you all the information you need for case preparation, https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=10&v=4r4jAU7i-wk In addition to what you have, I would suggest you get a hand priming tool. I have an RCBS, but there are others out...

    Coyotes and Fox Pro question

Why don't you hook up with a club near you? It's a great way to meet other callers and get out in the field. http://sportbar-favorit.ru/chapters.html

    Coyotes and Fox Pro question

There has been a lot of pressure on coyotes lately. Almost everyone has an electronic call nowadays, so most of the coyotes have heard most of the "normal" sounds. Try to go somewhere that is as far off the beaten path as you can. Get away from the usual calling areas that are more accessible to...

    Howa Ranch Rifle

You might want to look at a Ruger American. Very good quality at a really decent price. My 308 puts three shots in one hole at 200 yards.

    Marks on 30-06 casings?

I had the same sort of thing happen with a 22 rifle. The gunsmith at Duncan's gave me a piece of thin, woven material that looks like a kitchen food scrubber. I put it on a patch tip (the slotted one) on the end of a cleaning rod attached to an electric drill and put it into the chamber. I ran...

    Wyoming Speed Goats

I had a great opportunity this year to go to Wyoming to hunt antelope with four friends, one of whom has a cousin who has approximately 6,000 acres of land near Lost Springs (population 4) in eastern Wyoming. We also had access to many thousands of additional acres of public and private lands...

    Ruger American Rifle

That target was shot at the South Bay Rod & Gun Club at a club meet with about 50 witnesses. I used a Caldwell Lead sled and there was (surprisingly) a VERY light wind. I have shot many three and five-shot one-hole groups with it at 100 yards, but this was the first time I had shot the rifle at...

Barnes Copper Bullet FAILURE - Copper Super Fail!

I've been using Barnes bullets for several years in both muzzleloaders and a .308 without any problems. I have found that (for both rifles) the TSX's are more accurate than the TTSX's. Here's photo of one that went through a 250# hog. Expansion was perfect. It just doesn't get any better!

chamber fit brass or recommended case length?

Always trim cases, especially if you crimp. There is no way to get consistent results if all the crimps are different.

    Ruger American Rifle

Any of the calibers WILL work, but some are better choices. The 243 is great for the predators, but has to be considered "light" for deer. The 270 and 30-06 will surely do the job, but have a lot of noise and recoil. I have a RA in 308 and absolutely love it. I shoot Barnes 150 grain TSX BT...

    Camo hunting jacket

I just ran across a hunting jacket that's pretty nice. I saw it on the TV show Predator Pursuit. I emailed Jeff Thomason, the host of the show, to get the brand. It's a Walls Ledgend. The camo is Realtree Xtra. I paid about $50 for it. Check it out on Amazon.com My comments: It's a fairly heavy...

new reloader with a resizing question

Lots of good info here. Definitely get a standard press. Used is fine. The only Lee item(s) I like and use are the Lee lock stud and cutter and the shell holder and case length gauges (one for each caliber). Both items will only run you about $16. I would get the ball handle cutter. It's MUCH...

    Drone scouting

Being another drone owner, I thought I'd throw in my two cents worth. First, they are fun, but, as a scouting tool, I think you would be wasting your time. You would, however, be having fun while you are doing it. The big problem is the "Line of sight" rule. IMHO, you can do a better job of...

    Impressed by Barnes TSX

Barnes bullets are some of the best you can get. Here's a picture of one that nailed a 250# hog and another of a three-shot group at 200 yards from a Ruger American .308 using 150 gr. TSX bullets and 47.7 grains of Varget.

    Recovered Barnes TTSX Today!!!!!!!

    Gaiters,gaiters & gaiters which one?

I have a pair of Rocky ProLight 16" snake boots that I have worn for several years. They are extremely comfortable and are not hot at all. They are under $100. If you get some, get them a half size too big and wear two pair of socks.

    Optics and Distances for 'Yotes

Since you already have the 3-9, just use it. John recommended at 2-7 Leupold VX-1 for my AR and I've never been happier. Most shots on coyotes will be under 100 yards and you will be using the lowest power. If they hold up at distance, you will have time to crank up the power. My AR is sighted...
