What tells you when you should smoke vs dehydrate?

As far as im concerned it should be ok to do so but i cant confirm it via google. Its been years sence i have looked into this so i forget. A referance would also be appreciated. Thanks in advance

The main part of the question is the dehydrator. A smoker sound so much better though.

Do you kbow if you can marinate the meat in liquid smoke and put it in a dehydrator?

Thanks for the reply and ypu may be right about the flavor being an issue for me. But about the method. I think i have seen it before and i thought you needed to see the liver on the rabbit. Ill look into it more
