Yes, but keep in mind if you get a tag from the website you'll have to wait for it. You can go to any licensing location and buy your tag and they will print it, no wait. All depends how spur of the moment you are.- outdoordave

NEW TO SAN DIEGO!!
Welcome aboard Midwest. Hunting in CA is not much different than other states. Best bet right now is get yourself a CNF map and start scouting public land. I'll take a shot in the dark that you are military, if so I know there are hunts on Pendelton but I am not sure the logistics of it.- outdoordave

After over 10 years getting back into hunting
This is probably the best advice that can be given to a newbie. You missed the Turkey Tune up which usually has good info on it. There is also a link on the DFG's website http://dfg.ca.gov/Hunting/ in the middle towards the bottom is a PDF guide for hunting turkeys that might help also. Welcome...- outdoordave
