A lion clearly has been feasting on it. Assuming it was due to the lion sign around the deer. It could of been a bad shot by a hunter, then died, and then lion food. And yes there was once a plethora or upland game in this spot.

Went into an area today where I have seen a plethora of dove and quail twice earlier this year. This time...NOTHING. Absolutely nothing but song birds and crows... Pretty disappointed. Took the opportunity to explore more of this area and saw some turkey vultures circling an area not too far...

I have found two spots that hold MQ. Going back to them once all the deer seasons close. Hopefully will be posting pictures.

Slow morning but managed to pull one legal Hali out this past week. Hali and Shrimp ceviche was on that night.

What I learned from my 2015 Elk hunt... Go light. You will need to cover lots of ground so anything to make your pack as light as possible, Go for it. If you are not seeing elk in an area, switch it up (change elevations, canyons, different facing slopes, etc.) DO NOT focus just on one area...

What is the Conservancys agenda anyways? And how do they get to authority to dictate what happens on the island? It just does not make logical sense.

Relocation would be awesome. It is crazy to think that they would pay a helicopter crew to eradicate them. Shoot make it a special hunt lottery to at least keep the population in check. Imagine the revenue from applicants... Sad to see such a waste...

I inherited a bunch of family relics and history when my grandmother passed years ago. I have old letters and photos just like that. It is always cool to find interesting things like that about your family and have physical documentation of it.

I personally have not had a bad interaction with them or a warden. I have heard a story or two otherwise but as long as you are following all regs and using common sense I feel that they usually have our backs.
