You are a legend. Your name is well known and well respected. It was a honor meeting you and watching your kids on that pheasant hunt at SJ. You are way more humble and old school for all that you have done. I will leave it at that. Kansas is a good call. I pitty the Whitetail.

You do what you can to protect your dogs. Rattlesnake vaccine and avoidance training. Why take a chance? All of my Labs have been through the training and have had the vaccine. I am in Valley Center. We have plenty of rattlesnakes up here. I have caught quite a few and shot a few that were just...
Yeah, my go to is still my Howa 1500 .30 .06. The deer don’t care about a shooter’s Gucci Rifle. 150 grain TTSX BT has not failed me yet. Three Junior Tags filled with that rifle. Kids can shoot it. You will smoke them. Looking forward to your reports.

We know X12 well. I imagine my brother will be on Bucks. I will likely be up there with him. D16 is a great zone. I know it well enough. Plenty of good spots within easy driving distance from my house.

That is not what I am hearing from Wardens that I know. You cannot carry a side arm during archery season while hunting deer unless you are a Leo. See FGC 4370 subsection b. It really depends on the Warden and how they want to enforce it or not enforce it. I have seen them let violations go with...
Lots of Southern Pacific's in Valley Center. Not sure what type got your son but the SPs are very aggressive and venomous. Snake Gaters and tongs if you have to move one. Otherwise, a 12 gauge works best. Sorry for your and your son. It is hard to watch your kids go through stuff like that and...
Yep. It was a trip. The lighting was not great. I focused on the beard. It came on the call. Pulled the trigger and was like crap. No eggs. I would have passed if I was certain it was a bearded hen. I thought Jake for sure. I know it is a legal bird but legal doesn't always make it right.
