The mats have an extremely long life. 50+ years easy. Some of the first systems that were installed, the mats used were already 25 years old prior to install.

Here’s a brief explanation of the process of these projects.

They are filled by rain water. If the math is correct 2” of rain on the collection mats are enough to fill both tanks.

I’m still out here. Leaving now. We have a great turn out. It was nice seeing so many volunteers. Fastest bighorn guzzler I’ve seen put together. Project started Friday morning and was completed Saturday by 1 pm.
