Evan, How big is he?...How old?...Has he shot .22's yet? I bought my daughter the Savage Axis ll in the standard size...It's not really a very big rifle...She's 5-2" and a little over a 100 lbs...I would also consider a .243...Barely any recoil and can't be much different than a .223, but...

Yes...I have used a laydown hen and feeder along with the jake...To be honest, I have never really had much success with just a hen...Older longbeards see them and in many cases, want them to come to them...They'll gobble like crazy, but get suspicious after a while...It all really depends on...

Every situation is different...With kids, archery, and adults who have little patience or are a squirm worm...Decoys can really help...Plus, it's pretty awesome to watch them come in and dick with the decoys.......:blush: The terrain you hunt also has a lot to do with decoys...Wide open...
