I live/work in San Marcos. If i remember right theres a historical society next to a school house of of Twin Oaks Valley rd kinda near the big soccer fields adjacent to Buena Creek Rd.

I have a Howa 1500 in .270 and I love the way it shoots. Unfortunately havent been able to drop any deer with it yet but its a very easy round to handle and im confident it will kill anything i encounter around here. Either of your choices are great. Good luck
