My d14 tag soup summery. lions, foxes and bears oh my

Well its been a crummy hunting year. Unexpected family obligations took away my time to pre season scout this year. The one day I was able to scout I got growled at by a mountain lion and archers had set up in the area that I wanted to plant my cam. So i backed out quietly and give them that...

Had a conversation with a big cat while scouting last weekend.

My available time to scout hasn't been very good this year. Well life happens. I got a chance to get out and scout this last Saturday same area I scouted and hunted last year d14. Yup archery opener. This area doesn't see many people and I have yet to see an archer out in this rifle area. I...

Going to dabble in a new zone this year. northern d15

Just paid my license and tag draw. Put in for x9a (another point) and d14 again. I have been looking into hunting an area that closer to me. I live in corona and it takes me 3hrs to get to my area in d14, that pretty much makes any trip out there an overnighter at the least to be worth while...

    My 2019 plans and adjustments.

Starting to get that itch again. This year my biggest change in deer hunting tactics is going to be inviting some non hunter friends and family to go scouting with me. Last year I did pretty much all my scouting/hunting solo. I don't mind the time alone much, but that last week of the hunting...

2nd scout ever what I learned and a question or 2.

Buddy couldn't make this one so I headed out alone. Picked up some snake gaiters for this trip not taking chances by myself. Saw this and know kitty cats are still in the area. saw good amount doe and fawn prints. bumped 1 med sized doe 15 mins into my hike. I wonder if this belongs to the...

phone to optic adapter recommendations please.

I see these great glassing pictures on here that are taken through a spotter/ bino with your phone. I want in on the fun. What are you guys using? My current glass is 10x42 vortex diamondbacks on a tripod. I'm hoping for something easy to use that wont break the bank.

    my first scout.

Went out this weekend to get my feet on the ground. Learned a lot. I was a little to ambitious with my plan on checking water sources. Moving up and down those contour lines on foot is way different than drawing lines on a map. Not to mention there are no straight lines in the bush, off trail...
