Where are the Plaster City dove reports ?

Even with the thunderstorm the day before opener, we were able to do pretty good. I got limits the first three days but had to stay out all day long for them.

    Weird dove opener

I forgot the plug one time on my 20 ga. Just made it out to the field and realized it. I had a couple pencils, duck tape and a knife to cut to length. It worked for the time being. Never did run into the warden that trip though. But better safe than sorry. At least you had some fun hunting...

    S&W 1000 shotgun pad

That's what I was going to resort to if I couldn't find one i can screw on the back. Has anybody have problems with them messing up the finish or scratching the wood on their guns?

    S&W 1000 shotgun pad

Does anybody know where I can get a pad for a S&W 1000? After a weekend of shooting I'm ready for one. The stock is curved and all I found were straight pads that were too wide. I don't want to cut the gun as some others have suggested.

Back to IV after many many years.

My 6 & 8 yo kids had dove for the first time tonight. Although I told them they're miniature chickens. Wrapped them in bacon and added a touch of bbq sauce at the end. They loved them. I'm sure my daughter wouldn't eat them if I told her what they really were. She's the type that would want to...

Back to IV after many many years.

I couldn't remember where our spots were from when I was a kid. I do know the one hotspot dump had been cleaned up. Seamed like a lot of the trees were posted no hunting. What general areas would you recommend to try? I planned on bow hunting some deer this weekend but that got screwed up. This...

Back to IV after many many years.

Decided to do a last minute trip to imperial valley yesterday. Haven't been here in about 18 years. Dad and i used to go with my grandpa before he passed away. We actually had his truck with us for the trip. Brought back some good memories. He always found a tree or payable to sit under. We did...

    Steel Shot

Well, last minute trip to IV with my dad. Just got on the 86. Are the birds better in Brawley, so Centro or Holtville? Need to find a place to stay now.

    Steel Shot

Makes sense. I may try that next time if I can find any birds around here. IV is a bit far for a day trip.

    Steel Shot

I had an improved cylinder choke on there.

    Steel Shot

I had the same thing happen. I swear it was a dead on hit. Feathers flew everywhere and the thing kept flying. My dad even shot at it and had more feathers and there it kept going. I was only able to down 2 birds in owens valley but everything was a very long shot where we were. Hardly anything...
