12 gauge heavy dove loads are typically 1 1/8 ounce and the standard load is 1 ounce
20 gauge heavy dove loads are typically 1 ounce and the standard load is 7/8 ounce

Come on down to Fine Firearms. There is an excellent selection of shotgun shells for you to choose from (including standard dove loads)!

I'm itchin' to get down to La Mesa and check that place out... all the rave reviews and all. Read that you guys sold a guy a shotgun that he wasn't even planning on buying. I want to wait till I have a little more cash in my wallet so when I "accidently" purchase a new hunting rifle; it's buffered a little bit . A great man (SoCalRebelHunter) once told me, it's better to ask for forgiveness than permission !

I have always used the heavy dove loads for my 12ga after the opening weekend! Nice to have a little more shot in the shell when trying to hit birds that are spooked and flying at 9,000 miles per hour! ;D

Currently in the Valley and its 110 degrees. Noticing lots of dove, specifically whitewings. Oh and my boy and I managed a few pigeons in my in laws yard. A couple more years and help he'll ready.

I was at my buddy's house on the 4th in the Menifee area and I saw some Mourning Doves that looked like absolute BEASTS! These guys were massive! I was tempted, but of course resisted having the Gamo do work. Hope this is a sign of the season. They always seem to hide in communities when the season actually rolls around. Got a nice honey hole that I'm going to try out for opening day this year.

What's the shot size and weight? I think that might be the only difference. I know I've bought them before and haven't really noticed it once shooting. Maybe you just need to seek out the Eurasians and use them for those big guys!
