What an awesome event!!!! Started our day leaving the dock around 4:30am. Seas were flat calm, no wind, clear as could be with a full moon. Got to our spot around 6:30, few boats around us with nothing going on till about 9, then it seemed to be wide open, for everyone but us.
Took us about an hour to get in the groove but then we had steady fishing till we headed in around 1:30. Weighed in the first tuna of the tournament at 4:30 pm and had the top spot at 9 when they closed the scales, but in the morning we got bumped down to 3rd with a 4 fish total of 195lbs.
Ended up being an absolute blast, ended up getting 3rd out of over 80 boats. Also scored 3rd largest tuna at 52.6lbs. for a Rod/reel.
Special thanks to Jobsite Supply Co. For sponsoring the event and our boat.
