Go get that big old whitey Ed F. If I were to bring that wind mill back home to my wife, she would be extremely happy, and she would make me extremely happy.

Slow first morning... something is up. Saw two deer in the dark, that was it.
Last year I had bad luck. Some of it was self induced. I needed an intervention after I ran over my bow... sickening campfire story... very few people have heard the story.
Anyways, I'm sporting a new bow this year. The first arrow shot out of it killed a big ol elk. I believe that bows have mojo... the last one didn't, this one does. Switched broadheads too... I want big holes in whitey.
Almost prime time in the stand this evening... here we go boys and girls... Ed F

Cold snap is all it takes to get those bucks moving standing by
 
Rain and fog off and on... not ideal but I'll take it. 60° days... still early. Plenty of time. This year I came later, hoping to stay longer. I have to be home by Thanksgiving... or mama ain't gonna be happy with me.
Last night I saw 4 bucks and a doe. Two small bucks were trailing a doe. One buck was decent... he was moving. Patience will be key... Ed F1000002476.jpg1000002466.jpg

It's been suspiciously slow at this farm for some reason... Last year I was seeing 15+ deer a day... in 3 days I've only seen 5 deer. Bamboozled...

We moved to a different farm. I woke up this morning with a great feeling. I plan on watching my first episode of The View today... stand by. Ed F

Not much longer now right around the 13 has always been my best luck
 
The wind changed today so I moved to a different part of the farm. This is one of the few places where the corn hasn't been cut. I saw 2 bucks and a doe. One was a nice 10 that I only had a few seconds to evaluate. I had him standing at 25 yards broadside.... I decided to pass. The biggest whitetail I've ever let walk... I hope I don't regret it.

This evening I moved to a different stand and just had a nice 8 pointer trailing a doe right past me... I had to pass this one because I let a bigger one walk. I feel really good about the next few days. Ed F20241107_164129.jpg

I may have f'ed up... Back to my original stand this morning in the rain. At first light there were 2 does feeing around me. At about 7:15 a nice heavy 8... not a real big boy... but he had a heavy 8" nt dagger coming off his right burr. Cool looking buck. He stopped and raked a tree at 10 yards, checked those two does, freshened a scrape and walked away to another scrape. They're moving... stand by... patience usually wins.

So far I've passed on 3 bucks I would shoot on the last day... how does that saying go?

This rain sucks. I am not wearing rain gear... wasn't expecting rain... conditions are too good to leave. Suck it up buttercup... Ed F
